HISTORY
Waiiti Beach has been a special and popular place for many generations of Kiwis and visitors. In 1961 a carnival at Waiiti, attended by around 37 000 people, raised funds to build a surf club on Wilkinson's Estate.
The Surf Club was used until the late 1960's when the club disbanded, after which it was hired out to schools and groups for camps. Many childhood memories were created here.
A major renovation in 2020 has given the building new life in the hope it will be enjoyed and cherished by future generations.

The sensitive renovation has preserved the character and space of its previous life by incorporating recycled materials and highlighting the buildings original architectural features.
